Entrepreneurs waiting for a Law on Charity, Patronage and Sponsorship
The Confederation of Entrepreneurs
insists on the adoption of the Law on Charity, Patronage and
Sponsorship.
According to the head of the Presidium of the
National confederation of entrepreneurs Uladzimir Karahin, the
absence of such a law prevents businessmen from implementing their
social projects, supporting talented people and holding cultural,
educational or sportive events.
"Of course, it is
necessary. Sponsorship, patronage and charity are the most important
forms to manifest the social responsibility of business. It will be
ugly without legal forms and some crimes can be committed under the
disguise of charity."
Uladzimir Kavalhin says that in the
absence of such a law any entrepreneur who decides to financially
support to the project, can receive a criminal punishment. According
to him, there have been such cases already.
