Baranavichy activists raise the question of ineffective use of finances raised by taxes

Anzhela Kambalava, an activist of the civil campaign "Tell the Truth", received an answer from Baranavichy City Executive Committee concerning the terrible condition of the central Tsaruk and Haharyn Streets and the terms of their repairs.

In the answer of the deputy head of the executive committee V. Lazitski it is stated that in the budget for 2013 11,993.7 million rubles are issued for the current repairs and maintenance of the road network and 13,976.8 rubles for the capital repairs and reconstruction of the streets, including a part of Tsaruk Street.

"We know that much money from the state budget is spent on the repairs of the city streets, but their state is getting worse and worse. Article 34 of the Constitution guarantees our right to receive and impart information about the activities of the state agencies. That's why we will write new applications and collect signatures in order to learn not only about the financial indicators, but also about the reasons for the ineffective use of the means raised by taxes," stated Anzhela Kambalava.
