Ministry of Justice recognizes actions of Salihorsk District Court as unlawful
The Ministry of Justice took the side
of the "Young Front" activist Andrei Tychyna in his
long-standing dispute with the Salihorsk District Court.
Bear
in mind that in July 2012 he applied to the Minsk Regional Court with
a cassation appeal against the verdict of the Salihorsk District
Court which confirmed the legality of the ban on a bicycle rally,
issued by the Salihorsk District Executive Committee.
It took
the activist six months to receive a copy of the ruling of the Minsk
Regional Court. He decided not to leave the unlawful actions of the
judicial system without a due reaction and filed a complaint to the
Ministry of Justice, which held a check-up and found that the copy of
the required process document hadn't been filed to him in the due
time, by which the instruction on office work was violated.
However,
the responsible official – archivist A. Kryvulka, wasn't punished
as she "doesn't work at the mentioned position now". On the
other hand, the Main Justice Board pointed the head of the Salihorsk
District Court Natallia Haladok at the necessity "to strictly
abide by the demands of the instruction by court officers and not
admit analogical violations in the future work".
The
Ministry of Justice also reacted to the incompetence of the answer of
the main specialist of the department of the organization of court
activities T. Makouskaya to Mr. Tychyna and demanded that she pay
more attention to the preparation of answers to applicants.
