Mahiliou resident complains of Council of Republic Chairman’s non-feasance
Aliaksei Paulouski, resident of Mahiliou, submitted a complaint of a violation of the Law “On Public Appeals” by Chairman of the Parliament’s Upper Chamber, Anatol Rubinau. The complaint has been sent to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus.
Aliaksei Paulouski demands to take measures against the Chairman of the Council of the Republic, who has failed to respond to a collective appeal of Mahiliou residents for over 7 weeks, as well as to force him to answer the appeal.
On April 1, 2013 Aliaksei Paulouski sent a collective appeal of Belarusian and Russian citizens, including members of the pro-government Youth Union and “Belaya Rus”, to Anatol Rubinau with a request to award Aliaksandr Lukashenka’s son, Mikalai, the order of Friendship of Nations.
Then, the collective petition was signed by 133 people. According to the petitioners, Mikalai Lukashenka has made an outstanding contribution to the development of diplomatic relations with other countries, which allows other heads of state welcome Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
“Probably Anatol Rubinau forgot that he should give an answer to the appeal. The head of state should think about whether or not to continue a contract of employment with Rubinau, as it is not able to perform his duties anymore,” says Aliaksei Paulouski.
The activist says that whether the government officials like the appeal or not, the law should be implemented in any case.
