Baranavichy: prosecutor's office turns into post office
Civic activist Viktar
Syrytsa received a letter signed by the head of the police department
of the Baranavichy Executive Committee V. Herasimovich. There it is
stated that his complaint against the refusal
of an officer of the police department, major Piatro Kulhavik, to
sign a contract for guarding
the 25 May picket, was
concidered, but no "violations of
discipline and the legal order order
were found in the
actions of officers of the
Baranavichy City Police Department."
"I
filed my complaint to the city prosecutor and argued
that the Baranavichy Executive Committee
prohibited me to hold the picket because major
Kulhavik stalled the time and didn't sign a
written contract for the police services.
I also requested a
prosecutor's check-up
and requiring major
Kulgavik to implement
the decision of the executive committee #1497
of 16 July2009, "On
the order of holding mass events
in Baranavichy"
and the law of the Republic of Belarus of
30 December 1997 #114-3
"On Mass Events
in Belarus." However, the prosecutor
didn't discriminate in the case and forwarded it to the person whose
actions I appealed," stated Mr. Syrytsa.
Civil
activist Viktar Syrytsa intends to complain to higher authorities, as
far as it is impossible to hold a mass event in line with the legal
requirements in Baranavichy.
