Lukashenka's new decree: permission of ideologists required to hold a live performance
Aliaksandr Lukashenka signed decree
#257, according to which it is necessary to receive the permission of
ideologists to conduct mass cultural events.
The press service
of Lukashenka says:
"The decree provides that the organizer
is obliged to obtain a certificate for the right to organize and
carry out cultural and entertainment events on the territory of the
Republic of Belarus (roadshow license) in the department on
ideological work, culture and youth affairs of the Minsk City
Executive Committee."
Under the new decree, for events
with the participation of Belarusian and foreign artists roadshow
permit is issued with the payment of the state fee to the Special
Fund of President of Belarus on support of talented youth. The
roadshow permit for events with the participation of only Belarusian
artists will be issued free of charge.
"This legal act
also provides the right of foreign citizens, persons without
citizenship, foreign and international organizations to hold cultural
end entertaining events in the Republic of Belarus," reads the
press release.
