A member of the Belarusian Association of Journalists received an official warning from the Smaliavichy District Prosecutor's Office for cooperation with the TV channel "Belsat".

A few weeks ago, the correspondents of TV channel "Belsat" Volha Chaichyts and Ales Silich received subpoenas with the requirement to appear in the Smaliavichy District Prosecutor's Office to give explanations.

The call to the prosecutor was associated with the presence of the journalists at the public discussion of the project of the Belarusian-Chinese industrial park near Smaliavichy, held in April.

A policemen who was present at the discussion put down the passport data of the journalists, telling they would be ounished, after which an official warning was issued to the BAJ member Volha Chaichyts.

Today the same happened to Ales Silich who paid a visit to the prosecutor's office on his return to Belarus. The journalist does not agree with the warning and is going to appeal it, as according to the Constitution of Belarus he has the right to collect, store and disseminate any information.
