One more member of the
unregistered "Union of Poles in Belarus", its chairman
Mechyslau Yaskevich will soon be summoned to court as a defendant in
administrative proceedings. The Shchychyn police forwarded to Hrodna
a copy of the charges, given to Yaskevich for an alleged
adminsitrative offense – holding an unsanctioned rally.
The
matter is that on 12 May members of the Union of Poles installed a
cross in the village of Rachkaushchyna (the Shchuchyn district) to
commemorate the last commandant of Armija Krajova, Anatol Radzivonik,
who was killed in this place in 1949.
As we learned earlier,
similar charges were presented to 82-year-old Veranika
Sebastsyanovich. There is still no information about the dates of the
trials over the accused.
