On 19 July at 12 a.m. the Zhlobin District Court will deliver a verdict in the case of a member of the Belarusian Leftist Party "Fair World" Yauhen Basareuski.

"Yesterday there was held another sitting on my case", says Mr. Basareuski. "The court listened to witnesses, the prosecutor and to my last plea. The prosecutor, Siarhei Anoshka, demanded to punish me with three years in a penitentiary, taking into consideration the recent amnesty, with the restriction of the right to occupy leadership positions. This is a word for word repetition of his demands during the previous trial.

Bear in mind that on 7 December Judge of the Zhlobin District Court Ina Sharshniova sentenced Yauhen Basareuski to three years in a penitentiary, suspended for two years. His former colleague Valiantsina Kastsiukevich was sentenced to four years of personal restraint without sending her to an open penitentiary institution. The both defendants appealed the sentence to the Homel Regional Court, which overturned the convictions and ordered a new trial.

The second trial of Basareuski's case started in March 2013 at the Zhlobin District Court. The case was considered by Judge Alena Yarnolchyk.
