Zhlobin: court admits the mistake, but dismisses the claim
Judge of the Zhlobin District Court
Sniazhana Halavenchyk dismissed the claim of the
human rights activist Leanid Sudalenka in favor of a worker of the
Belarusian Steel Works (BSW) Maryia Mirayeuskaya with the requirement
to collect a pension from her employer for more than four years.
"I
absolutely do not understand this ruling", said Leanid
Sudalenka, who attended the trial. "The
lawyer, who represented the interests of BSW at the trial, presented
a letters signed by the Director General of
BSW, according
to which a mistake was made and the pension was to be paid to the
employee. However, the judge denied our
legitimate demands."
At present
Mr. Sudalenka is waiting for the declarative part of the judgement in
order to appeal the verdict at the Homel Regional Court.
"If
this does doesn't
work, we will appeal to the higher authorities, including the Supreme
Court", added the human rights
defender.
Bear
in mind that in May Ms. Sudalenka prepared and
filed a lawsuit to the Zhlobin District Court
in favor of the worker of the Belarusian Steel
Works Maryia
Mirayeuskaya with the
requirement to collect a pension from her employer for more than four
years. The woman did not know that at the age of 50 she was supposed
to be accrued pension and the employer "forgot"
about this fact, as
a result of which the employee didn't receive more than 77 million
rubles.
