Mikalai Statkevich is worried about Mikalai Dziadok and Yauhen Vaskovich
On
12 July the political prisoner, former presidential candidate Mikalai
Statkevich phoned his wife Maryna Adamovich from prison No. 4 in
Mahiliou. He told her about a case he witnessed in the
prison.
According to the politician, at night heard cries in
the Belarusian language. That's why he asked to check the situation
of the political prisoners Mikalai Dziadok and Yauhen Vaskovich, who
are kept in the prison.
Maryna Adamovich: "He said that
twice, in the night of 6-7 July and in the night of 7-8 July, he
clearly heard how someone hit the iron bars with a cup and shouted in
a pure Belarusian language that he was tired of all this, he didn't
want to be in the cell anymore, but would not write a clemensy
petition."
According to Maryna Adamovich, Statkevich
asked to learn about the situation around Mikalai Dziadok and Yauhen
Vaskovich: how long ago they had meetings with their counsels and
whether they were pressurized through other prisoners with the aim to
obtain clemency petitions.
According to the politicians,
prisoners are often pressurized quite severely in this prison, but it
was the first time he heard cries in the Belarusian language
concerning the clemency petitions.
