Action of solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners held in Warsaw
A conference on the
occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Civil
Society of Belarus was held in Warsaw. The event was attended by the
European MP Marek Migalski, the chief editor of the website
charter97.org Natallia Radzina, the former political prisoner Zmitser
Bandarenka and the head of the educational program named after Kastus
Kalinouski, Yan Malicki.
The Belarusian participants told
about their own experience of being political prisoners in Belarus
and the Polish side discussed the EU policy towards
Belarus.
According to Marek Migalski, such day is very
important for political prisoners.
“It is very important
that they should known that we remember about them. It is also a
reminder fo Lukashenka that we do remember. Thanks to such actions of
solidarity, thanks to the support of the whole Europe they have more
chances to go through it saving their dignity, and all Belarusians
get more chances to live in a free and democratic country.
The
Warsaw Solidarity Day will conclude with a jazz concert by Kristina
Gedzik.
