Political prisoner Aliaksandr Frantskevich released from jail
At
5.30 a.m. on 3 September the political prisoner Aliaksandr
Frantskevich was released from the Ivatsevichy colony.
I was
awoken at 5.00 a.m., earlier as usual – we get up at 6 a.m. All
documents were filled in half an hour and at 5.30 a.m. I was let out
of the prison gates. Most probably, it was done so that I wouldn't
have time to say goodbye to my prison friends,” believes Mr.
Frantskevich.
The political prisoner told that he has felt
pressurization all the time, but ordinary political prisoners were
pressurized as well:
“If you are strong, no matter for what
reasons you are kept in jail, you will endure it”. Aliaksandr
Frantskevich spent the last five months in a cell-type facility. He
knows about what is going on by mail and letters. He called the
current events in Belarus a “political terror”.
“My
views haven't changed, they just became stronger”, stated the
political prisoner. Before his placement in the cell-type facility he
met with Eduard Lobau several times and knows that he started
learning the profession of welder.
According to the political
prisoner, the food in the prison is terrible. “You can survive only
thanks to the things you receive from relatives. Carrot was the only
vegetable served in the prison,” he said.
“I didn't touch
the computer for three years, but my hands itched when I saw it in
the hands of the prison guards.” Now he intends to go to
Navapolatsk where he will be kept under supervision, but will try to
get transferred to Minsk in order to have an opportunity to work in a
computer firm.
Aliaksandr Frantskevich thanked everyone for
support and letters which were sent to him all the time. He took out
a large package of letters with him. Three years ago, in September
2010, he was arrested within the framework of the “case of
anarchists”. On 24 May 2011 the Savatski District Court of Minsk
sentenced him to three years of imprisonment.
