Vitsebsk member of “Fair World” got fined for leaflets
The Kastrychnitski
District Court of Vitsebsk found the member of the Belarusian Leftist
Party “Fair World” Andrei Andreyeu 2 million rubles for
distribution of leaflets “People's Referendum”, which was
considered as a violation of the Law “On Mass Media”.
Judge Alena Protas fined the pensions acccording to the charges,
composed by officers of the Kastrychnitski District Police Department
of Vitsebsk, who detained him while he was throwing the leaflets into
postboxes in a multi-stored building. The activist thinks the police
could receive a telephone call from a local dweller. Andrei Andreyeu
stated that the facts that were described in the violation report
were true, but he didn't consider himself guilty. He considers the
court ruling, issued on the basis of Article 22.9 of the Code of
Administrative Violations (violation of the legislation on mass
media) as unfair and is going to appeal it.
