Viktar Syrytsa files appeal against activions of Baranavichy inter-district prosecutor who evades from implementing his duties
A member of the Movement "For
Freedom" Viktar Syrytsa sent a complaint to the prosecutor of
the Brest region against the actions of the Baranavichy
inter-district prosecutor, who, according to the activist, has failed
to implement his duties.
The complaint states that by the
ruling of the Baranavichy District Court of 31 July 2013 the ativist
was found guilty of violating Article 23.34 of the Code of
Administrative Offenses and fined 2 million rubles.
Disagreeing
with such hasty and biased decision of the court, on 9 August 2013
Viktar Syrytsa applied to the Baranavichy Inter-District Prosecutor
with a statement in which he asked to bring a protest against the
judgment of 31 July 2013.
“I believe that the Baranavichy
interdistrict prosecutor evaded from fulfilling his duties. I am
certainly grateful to him for the explanations where and how I could
apply for the protection of my rights. However, I asked exactly
Baranovichsky inter-district Prosecutor to issue a protest against
the judgment which was illegal from my point of view. I asked him to
issue a protest, not to explain where and how I could apply in this
case. And if there were no reasons to protest, in the prosecutor's
opinion, he should have written about it in the response to my
statement. However, first of all he was to have demanded the case
from the court. By having not done it the prosecutor evaded from the
implementation of his duty, thus violating the present legislation,”
pointed Viktar Syrytsa.
That's why, on the basis of the above,
and being guided by Article 55 of the Law "On Prosecutor's
Office of the Republic of Belarus" the activist asks the
prosecutor of the Brest region to draw the Baranavichy inter-district
prosecutor to the legal account.
