Mahiliou activists of the Trade Union of Radio Electronic Industry are prohibited to hold their picket
The women
wanted to protest against the actions of the lawyer Natallia
Zakharchanka
and the verdict of Judge of
the Leninski
District Court of Minsk
Halina Tarasava
about their eviction from the dormitory of "Building Trust No.
12" without providing alternative accommodation to stay.
The
picket was to have taken
place on 2
October 100 meters away
from the prosecutor's office
and the court
buildings, located on Dobrolyubov
Street,
along the
course of pedestrian traffic in the direction of these buildings from
the stop of the public transport “Polytechnicum”.
The reason for the
picket ban was that the
organizers intended to hold their event in a place that hadn't been
determined as suitable for mass events by the authorities. According
to the received answer, mass events without participation of the
authorities can be held only in one place, at the ground near the
stadium “Khimik”, on the address Chelyuskintsev Street, 64c.
The lawyer of the
independent trade union of Radio
Electronic
Industry
Aliaksei Yauhenau says that
the women
had no other go, because they had
lost their homes.
The
administration of the hostel of the building trust No. 12, located
near the house in Zaslonau Street, 29, threw Sviatlana Ivaniushava
and Ina Tsiarelia out, together with 4-year and 16-year-old children.
Earlier, during the
consideration of the case in court in connection with new
circumstances, the women signed a settlement
agreement with the building of the trust No.
12. Judge Tarasava and
lawyer Zakharchanka
said that it wouldn't have
any negative consequences for them, but as a result the women were
evicted from the hostel,” says Aliaksei Yauhenau.
It
should be noted that the picket
was to take place on the
International Day of Non-Violent Action, 2
October.
