On 1 October preventive supervision was lifted from a former political prisoner, participant of the post-election protests of 19 December 2010, “Young Front” activist Uladzimir Yaromenak. The activist was informed by it by the Pershamaiski District penitentiary inspection of Minsk.

“An inspector phoned me ans asked me to come to the inspection, where I was issued a ruling that the preventive supervision towards me was stopped. However, I remain under prophylactic supervision, which was established after my release from the penitentiary,” said Uladzimir Yaromenak to Radio “Racyja”.

After Uladzimir Yaromenak had been pardoned on 11 August 2011, prophylactic supervision was established over him as well as over other political prisoners, in conformity with Article 196 of the Criminal-Executive Code. Later, on 12 March 2012, the Pershamaiski District Court of Minsk established preventive supervision over him for one year.

In August, Uladzimir Yaromenak was sentenced to three months of arrest by the Pershamaiski District Court of Minsk for a violation of the requirements of preventive supervision.
