Babruisk: blogger Aleh Zhalnou punished with a fine
In the evening on 1 November Judge Natallia Charapukha finished the trial of Aleh Zhalnou and punished him with a fine of 20 basic units.
Natallia Charapukha reported that the blogger was found guilty of violating Article 23.4 of the Administrative Code disobedience to lawful order or request of an official in the performance of official duties).
“Of course, I will lodge an appeal, as I disagree with the verdict,” said Aleh Zhalnou. “I think the judge was forced to do it. I am also going to apply to the presidential commission to tell that there is a mafia in Babruisk within the Interior Ministry.”
The hearings on this case lasted from 10 October. The fate of the computer appliances, confiscated from Mr. Zhalnou's apartment, as well as of the criminal case, which the traffic policeman Yauhen Serashtanau asked to instigate against the blogger, remain uknown.
