Brest UCP organization eager to hold a procession in support of the Ukrainian people
Brest regional organization of the United Civil Party filed an application for holding a procession in Lenin Street on 21 December.
According to its leader Uladzimir Vuyek, the purpose of the mass action is a manifestation of solidarity with the Ukrainian people in their quest to have a European perspective. “The Ukrainian situation can become a major factor that will influence the developments in Belarus towards democracy”, said Uladzimir Vuyek. “Moreover, we observe that Belarusians are also eager to become a part of the EU, as evidenced by the number of visas issued to them by the diplomatic missions of Poland, Lithuania and other European countries."
The application to Brest City Executive Committee contains the request to order the communal utilities, law enforcement agencies and health care facilities that they ensure public order, health care during mass events and clear the area after its completion. According to the plans of the organizers, 15 people will take part in the procession from the ground near the Brest central department store to Lenin Square.
