Judge Viktorya Shabunia of Minsk Tsentralny District Court punished opposition activist Maksim Viniarski with an administrative arrest of 15 days for involvement in a picket of solidarity with Ukrine’s pro-EU protest, which was held outside the Embassy of Ukraine in Minsk on November 30.
The activist was found guilty of a violation of Art. 23.34 of the Administrative Code (violation of order or organization of mass events).
Maksim Viniarski asked the court to postpone the execution of the punishment for a month due to illness of his mother .
In protest against the decision of the judge the activist declared a hunger strike.
