Representatives of opposition parties not included in Homel regional election commission
A joint meeting of Homel regional executive committee and the Regional Council of Deputies on the formation of the regional election commission was held today. The meeting was attended by a BHC member Viktar Adzinochanka. According to him, the meeting lasted 15 minutes and 48 seconds. The "Fair World" Party and the UCP nominated to the commission one representative each, but their candidates were rejected. The officials argued that the basis for inclusion in the commission is previous experience of similar work.
The commission has 10 representatives of pro-government political parties and public organizations, such as the Republican Youth Union, the Belarusian Union of Journalists, the Communist Party of Belarus, the Party of Labor and Justice, veterans’ organizations, the Lawyers’ Union, official trade unions, as well as three representatives of labor collectives and two nominated by citizens.
