Members of Brest city branch of the United Civil Party applied to the local authorities with the request to authorize the picket against the introduction of the state fee on cars which they intend to hold on 12 January in Lenin Square.

The picket application was filed by UCP activist Dar'ya Kastsiukevich. The aim of the picket is to express dissent at the introduction of the state fee for the admission of the car to participate in traffic. “Our party office began receiving calls from people asking how they could put their signatures under the petition against the fee, drafted by the UCP”, said D. Kastsiukovich. “Moreover, we have seen many comments on the Internet concerning the initiative of collecting signatures against the state fee. However, not everyone knows where our office is located, and not everyone has the time come to us for this purpose. Therefore, we believe that people should have the opportunity to express their position, including in a public place, that's why we have filed an application for the mass action."

The application mentions that the about 20 people will take part in the picket, and banners and slogans against the introduction of the state fee will be used during it.
