Brest City Executive Committee returns electorate to year 2010
The section "Elections-2014" of the official website of Brest City Executive Committee contains a link to the regulation determining the places where it is prohibited to hold pickets for collecting signatures for nomination of candidates for the upcoming local elections.
However, the document titled "On amendments to the decision of the Brest City Executive Committee for February 5, 2010 № 234" doesn't list such places and concerns only changes in the personnel which must comply with the aforementioned decision. In order to find the list of places prohibited for collecting signatures, one needs to fijnd regulation No. 234, issued by the authorities four years ago.
According to that document, it is prohibited to collect signatures on Lenin Square, Svaboda Square, Masherau Avenue, Ikonnikov Park, Cosmonauts and Shevchenko boulevards, Savetskaya, Googl, Mickiewicz and Maskouskaya Streets, as well as in the memorial complex "Brest Fortress", at the bus station, at objects of rail and water transport, at a distance of less than 200 meters from the building of the Brest Broadcasting Company and less than 50 meters from the buildings of the national government bodies, local representative, executive and administrative bodies, diplomatic missions and consular offices, courts , prosecutors' offices, territories of the organizations providing defense, state security and daily life of the population (public transport, companies responsible for water, heat and electricity supply, hospitals, kindergartens, educational institutions).
