Zhodzina City Election Commission guided by Executive Committee
Zhodzina City Election Commission traditionally occupies in the building of local executive committee. Despite the fact that election commissions are supposed to be independent and act independently of the authorities, the electoral commission in Zhodzina is completely controlled by the executive.
The conclusion is voiced by an independent observer Aliaksei Lapitski.
The election commissions’ heads remain the same from year to year – it’s the same persons, either former or current employees of the executive committee.
From the very beginning of the formation of the city election commission, nothing has changed except the plate of the office where the commission is located.
In addition, according to Lapitski, there were cases when the election commission’s office was closed after 16 p.m. and observers could not get there.
