February 4 a joint meeting of the Rechytsa District Executive Committee and the Rechytsa District Council was conducted to form precinct election commissions. The meeting was attended by election observer Valery Putsitski.
According to him, the meeting lasted for 15 minutes. There was no separate voting for nominees to the PECs – just for the number of people in them.
The Belarusian Leftist Party “Fair World” nominated eight representatives to the PECs. However, none of them were included in the commissions. “The authorities explained it by their age. On the other hand, they included in the PECs 19 members of veterans' organizations, who are also quite old,” said Mr. Putsitski.
