Are flaws in the work of the executive committee a fault of the post office?
The head of the Baranavichy organization of the Trade Union of Radio Electronic Industry Ryhor Hryk learned about his “receiving” an answer from the Baranavichy City Executive Committee only from an answer of the Baranavichy interdistrict prosecutor's office.
In January, the activist applied to the executive committee for a permission to hold a picket, but hasn't received an answer to his application. Despite this, junior counselor of justice, Prosecutor Aliaksandr Bildzeika found no violations in the actions of the executive committee and informed the civil society activist about it.
Mr. Hryk says the answer of the prosecutor raises doubts, as far as the executive committee usually sends his answers by registered mail, whereas this time they allegedly sent it by regular mail. Ryhor Hryk took his time to come to the post office to talk to the head of the post office and the mailman, both of whom said there was no such letter.
The activist intended to hold the picket on January 26 under the slogan “Lets bring actions of the authorities and the laws of the Republic of Belarus under civil control".
