On February 28 at a meeting of the Rechytsa District Election Commission a candidate for the district council, coordinator of the civil campaign “Tell the Truth!” Aleh Shabetnik was issued with a warning.

As reported by an election observer Valery Pytsitski, the warning was issued to the candidate because his electioneering agent was collecting signatures for holding "People's Referendum”.

February 27, parliamentary candidate Aleh Shabetnik held a picket in the village of Peravaloka. Meanwhile, his agent was collecting signatures for holding the “People's Referendum”. The head of the district election commissioon Ryhor Yakushau immediately arrived there, snatched the signatures sheets and called the police. After this, the candidate was warned. However, collecting signatures is not prohibited by the law.

“Should the candidate have banned it to his agent?”, asks the election observer. Aleh Shabetnik is running for the district council in Karavatsitskaya election constituency No, 35.
