Sculptor and public figure Henik Loika has sued the KGB. The reason was the incident when the officer who was keeping his duty at the reception room of the KGB failed to answer to the visitor in the language of his appeal.

Officer Siarhei Kaidunou stated he didn't know the Belarusian language.

“It is impossible to get the state use the Belarusian language. The state doesn't let us use the Belarusian language, which is a violation of Article 4 of the Law “On Languages”. There were many cases when I confined myself to complaints. However, in this case I tried to bring it all
to court, passed all instances, twice applied to the administration of the KGB and finally filed a lawsuit,” said Mr. Loika.

In his appeal Henik Loka asks to find unlawful the refusal of the legal entity State Security Committee (KGB) to use the first state language, Belarusian, and oblige the KGB to take disciplinary action towards the employee, up to his dismissal.
