Participants of the project “Election observation: theory and practice” detained in Minsk
The project participants Hanna Azemsha and Palina Brodzik were to have held a training for election observers on March 14. They drove to the place of the training by car, carrying the necessary stationery and brochures for observers with them.
In Husouski Street, their car was stopped by road police, who stated that the car was suspected in causing an accident and asked the girls to drive with them for an examination of their car.
The girls were driven to the Frunzenski District Police Department, where the printed matter was confiscated from them. As it was stated in the confiscation report, they didn't have the official documents concerning the printing of the brochures. At about 9 p.m. the detainees were released.
