Activist of the National Bolshevik movement Dzmitry Paliyenka was transferred this morning to the detention center to serve an administrative arrest of 13 days on hooliganism charges. Meanwhile, for two days, his whereabouts and legal status remained unknown. The court, as well as various departments of the Interior Ministry, who were addressed by the activist’s relatives and friends, denied his detention.

Dzmitry Paliyenka told the HRC "Viasna" about his detention in the evening of March 24.

The activists said that he was held in the police station of Zavodski district.

He also said that he was visited by a police inspector who wanted to talk to him. After that, the activist phoned his friends and said that the police wanted to isolate him on the eve of Freedom Day.

Interestingly, the policeman came to Paliyenka approximately two hours after the activist stood trial. On Saturday, March 22, he was detained over graffiti, and on March 24 he was convicted of hooliganism under Art. 17.1 of the Administrative Code and fined.
