Hrodna human rights defenders are summoned to police again
Hrodna human rights defenders Uladzimin Khilmanovich, Raman Yurhel and Viktar Sazonau are to visit the Leninski District Police Department of Hrodna on April 3.
As they were informed by the deputy chair of the Leninski DPD Pavel Lapato, the reason is that on March 25 they photographed one another with the Ukrainian (blue-yellow) and Belarusian (white-red-white) flags in the memorial sites of the city and congratulated Hrodna residents with the Freedom Day, on which the 96th anniversary of the Declaration of the Belarusian Popular Republic was celebrated.
Back on April 1 Raman Yurhel received a telephone call from the Hrodna police and was told that he needed to come to the DPD. The same day, Mr. Sazonau's apartment was visited by a police inspector. However, the human rights defender was absent from home.
