Following the head of the Swedish human rights organization Östgruppen Martin Uggla, member of the European Parliament Marek Migalski wasn’t allowed to enter Belarus as well.
At night on 12 May, he was stopped in Brest when passengers of the train from Warsaw were passing the border control.
Member of the European Parliament Marek Migalski is known for his strong statements concerning the situation with human rights in Belarus. He is a strong advocate of tough measures against the Belarusian regime. Migalski also campaigned for a boycott of the World Ice Hockey Championship in Belarus due to repressions against the opposition.
Marek Migalski and his colleagues were kept on the Belarusian border until the morning train to Poland.
