As a result of a search, which took place in the apartment of Babruisk blogger Aleh Zhalnou on Friday, the police confiscated computer equipment, for the second time over the last seven months. This time, says the blogger, the police took a hard drive, a flash drive, a laptop, a digital video recorder and several discs.

The blogger apartment was searched after he faced criminal charges in early May. Aleh Zhalnou was accused under article 340 of the Criminal Code for “false report about the danger”. The charges stemmed from an incident that happened in the city police department building in February. Then, the blogger in response to a question from a policeman whether he was carrying weapons said that any thing could be used, and even a keychain alarm could explode at a certain temperature. The policeman viewed these words as reporting about the danger.

During the search, the police were looking for the video the blogger shot during the incident.

On May 26, Aleh Zhalnou is expected to be questioned by the investigator.
