Relevant appeal to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus has already collected more than five hundred signatures. The collection of signatures was initiated by the Agency for Regional Development "Dzedzich" NGO with the assistance from students, volunteers and those young people who care.

The action is carried out in the framework of the campaign "Oh, Bologna!" and, as noted by one of its activists Uladzimir Krasko, acquires urgency as in 2015 the Secretariat of the Bologna Committee will be again considering the application of Belarus to join the process. "Two years ago the attempt to join the Bologna process was unsuccessful for the Belarusian authorities. The Bologna Committee found that academic freedoms are not respected in our country," Krasko said.

That is why the present appeal, under which Brest students willingly leave their signatures, urges the officials to ensure that the university chancellor is elected by the Scientific Council of the institution, and to provide those who are studying at universities with the opportunity of student self-government.
