Another picket banned in Brest
As it is stated in the picket ban, signed by the deputy head of the Brest City Executive Committee Henadz Barysiuk it is stated that the picket could not be permitted, as some other actions, which were planned earlier, would be taking place in the park of soldiers-internationalists at the specified time.
Bear in mind that the application for holding the picket against rising prices for goods and services was filed by the head of the local branch of the Belarusian Left Party "Fair World" Liudmila Dzenisenka. The picket was scheduled for July 17 for an hour (1 to 2 p.m.) on the site near the stage in the park of soldiers-internationalists.
Liudmila Dzenisenka is surprise at such approach of the city authorities. "If other activites are regularly held in the park, which allegedly interfere with holding mass events, why has the executive committee determine it as the place for much events?” asks the head of the Brest “Fair World” branch. She does not exclude the possibility of appealing the ban on picketing in the courts.
