Investigators make Yury Rubtsou sign non-disclosure agreement
On August 5 an activist from Homel Yury Rubtsou visited the Savetski district department of the Investigation Committee of Minsk, were he was interrogated as a suspect in a criminal case.
Investigators told Rubtsou that the criminal case against him had been opened under Article 391, “Insult of a judge or a people's assessor”. The sanctions of the article include a fine, corrective labour for up to 2 years, an arrest for up to 3 months, or restriction of freedom for up to 3 years.
Yury Rubtsou has signed a document prohibiting the disclosure of information about investigation. But as a rule, in such cases a linguistic examination of the text of “insult” is carried out from the beginning, which means continuation of investigative activities.
The next interrogation of the activist is to take place in a week.
Earlier, Yury Rubtsou submitted comments to the minutes of the court proceedings held by the judge of Savetski district court in Minsk, Kiryl Palulekh. However they were ignored by the court.
Let us remind that the administrative process, as a result of which Rubtsou’s words were qualified as a contempt of the judge, was held after “Chernobyl Way” rally, on April 28, 2014, in the court of Savetski district of Minsk. The activist went on a hunger strike for 25 days of arrest, the entire term, protesting against the verdict, and was hospitalized afterwards.
