Opposition activist detained in Homel
Opposition activist Kanstantsin Zhukouski was detained last evening in Homel. He was detained outside his private house and taken to the police department, despite the fact that it was he who had called the police. The conflict started after the activist could not get into his own house, as the road was blocked by several trucks. After he saw that there was no driver in the truck, the activist was forced to call the police. The policemen offered Kanstantsin Zhukouski to get into a police car, but he refused. Then they took his passport, and pushed the activist into the car. The activist was then brought to the Tsentralny District Police Station. He managed to call home to tell that he had been charged swearing. The activist is likely to stand trial today.
