Kyrgyz human rights activist: Lukashenka insulted our country
Kyrgyzstan’s parliament must immediately consider the issue of diplomatic relations with Belarus. This comes from an activist Ondurush Toktonasyrov on 3 September during his protest action near the White House in Bishkek, AKIpress.org reports.
“Should we keep having diplomatic relations between our countries after what dictator Lukashenka did? By his deed –awarding the Order of Peoples’ Friendship to Kurmanbek Bakiev – he shocked not only Kyrgyzstan, but the whole world. This is an insult to our country, and a silly deed on the part of Lukashenka. First and foremost he insulted our revolution”, - Toktonasyrov said.
He noted that he was surprised at the position of president Almazbek Atambaev.
“The president’s stance is unclear. Even the trial on the 7 April events ended unclearly. First of all I support the people of Kyrgyzstan and seek justice, since we scream at the whole world that we are the most democratic country. One of the main demands of my today’s action is the dismissal of Belarus’ ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Dzienisienka”, - he said.
Toktonasyrov pointed out that Belarus’ ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Dzenisenka needed to appeal for resignation upon his own free will, since he did not manage to carry out his functions as a diplomat.
“I am waiting for a meeting with an MP Kanybek Imanaliev, expecting his reaction to my action. On Monday I already met his aide, but there still has been no reaction”, - he added.
