Detention of Alena Dubanosava

Mikashevichy trade union activist Leanid Dubanosau has received a reply to his complaint concerning the detention of his wife Alena Dubanosava and her placement in a pre-trial prison for three days.

The head of the Luninets district department of the Investigations Committee in the Brest region, police major Kolchyn stated that no criminal case would be brought as a result of an examination of the actions of officers of the Department for Fighting Economic Crimes of the Luninets District Police Department Uladizmir Makeichyk and Aliaksandr Yermakovich, who detained Mrs. Dubanosava, as there was no corpus delicti in their actions. He also writes that no criminal case will be brought against Alena Dubanosava.

Mr. Dubanosau intends to appeal this refusal to bring a criminal case
to the higher authorities.
