Police officers of the police department of Leninsky district of Mogilev on September 30 gave back two laptops to independent journalist Alexander Burakou, they are belonging to his wife and were confiscated during the "inspection" of the journalist’s apartment, as well as one of the base units from the apartment of his parents. The second base unit that is from his parents’ flat is still staying as evidence in the police department of Leninsky district.
Deputy Head of the police department of Leninsky district Major Uladzimir Puhachou got acquainted Alexander Burakou with the protocol on administrative violation that had been prepared in advance. According to this document, the journalist is charged with violation of Part 2 of Art. 22.9 of the Administrative Code - illegal production and distribution of media products. There is concrete example in the protocol of such an "illegal products" – materials posted on DW.de on August 25, 2014, article "By the paths of smuggler: Does work the Russian sanctions in the border?" signed by Alexander Burakou.

In the protocol like witnesses are pointed police officers from the same police department of Leninsky district of Mogilev, - the press service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists.
Major Puhachou told reporters that the protocol on administrative violation goes to court, where Alexander Burakou will be called until October 10.
On the morning of September 16 in a private apartment of Alexander Burakou officers of the Leninsky district police department conducted a “inspection of the place of the administrative violation." The reason was the appearance on the website DW.DE ("Deutsche Welle") three materials under the name of Alexander Burakou in July - August 2014. As a result of the search, which was recorded on a video camera, were took two laptops and two flash drives from the apartment. The same day later on the same basis there was a search in the apartment of the parents of the journalist, during which were confiscated base units of two computers.
Alexander Burakou sent a complaint about the actions of the police department of Leninsky district of Mogilev to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Ihar Shunevich and to the Head of Department of Internal Affairs of Mogilev region Executive Committee Alexander Kavalchuk on September 18. He also sent a complaint against the officers the police department of Leninsky district of Mogilev and unknown deputy prosecutors of Mogilev to the prosecutor of the Mogilev region.
The journalist believes that searches and confiscation of computer equipment in his and his parents’ apartments on September 16 were committed illegal and all evidence obtained during these proceedings, don’t have any legal force.
