Police disrupt gathering dedicated to Illia Dabratvor's release
Illia Dabratvor was released after 20 days of administrative arrest.
A few dozens people have gathered near the capital building of the detention center to welcome the meet the activist of democratic movement. However, they did not manage to meet him, as two hours prior to that police has taken the activist to the Leninski District Police Department in Minsk. Mr. Dabratvor was released one 1.6 hours after that. Thus, solemn meeting of the political prisoner was held in a different place, namely near the Minsk Tractor Plant, informs the “Belarusian Partisan”.
Illia Dabratvor was met by Aliaksei Yanukevich (leader of BPF party), Ales Makayeu (one of the leaders of the solidarity movement “Razam"), Aleh Korban (Head of the NGO "Alternative"), as well as members of these organizations.
The activist was arrested on 16 September at the Tsentralny District Court of Minsk, where he came to support Yury Rubtsou, an activist from Homel, who was accused of insulting a judge. The alleged reason for the arrest of Illia Dabratvor was his T-shirt which had a print text saying "Freedom to political prisoners!” The activist was detained according to two articles of the Administrative Code, namely “Disorder conduct” and “Resistance during the arrest” and sentenced to 20 days in jail on 17 September.
