Fired for upholding struggle against «shadow accountancy»
The contract system of employment deprived employees of both state and private enterprises of their rights. In particular, the head of the private enterprise “Trans-Line-Brest” Aliaksandr Tsyhanchuk dismissed two truckers who carried cargoes abroad and had long labour records without any penalties.
One of them, Eduard Dziahileu, was dismissed for an attempt to find his real wage. Another driver, Viachaslau Sachuk, confirmed swindling at the accountant office to an investigator of the Economic Crime Division of the Leninski District Police Department of Brest. Nevertheless the investigator found no reasons to instigate criminal proceedings on the matter and wrote just one sentence in the minutes of Sachuk's interrogation: “The accountant Fitsler, possibly by chance, told Sachuk that he needs to convince Dziahileu to keep silent and Sachuk would be paid for that”.
Soon after that Viachaslau Sachuk was warned by the head of the enterprise that his labour contracts wouldn't be extended.
