A working group has been formed in Asipovichy district to intensify the monitoring of unemployed people. The group aims at “meeting the demands of the head of state to adopt stringent measures to eliminate dependency and parasitism, implementing the provisions of Article 56 of the Constitution, providing for the obligation of citizens to participate in the financing of public expenses,” according to the website of the newspaper Asipovitski Krai.

The first meeting of the group, headed by deputy chairman of the Asipovichy district executive committee Aliaksandr Shauliuha, was held on 11 November. The work of the group will involve village councils, bodies of territorial self-government and bodies of crime prevention.

The newspaper notes that “time of leisure has passed for those who are not accustomed to burden themselves with socially useful work: Belarus was the first post-Soviet country to address the social problem of parasitism... Asipovichy district has enough vacant jobs – more than three hundred, and the countrymen who do not want to work honestly should think about whether they can to play with fire. Warning lights have already flashed for them”.

The official website of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare reports that as of November 19 there were 81 vacant jobs in the Asipovichi district.

Meanwhile, according to the newspaper Mahiliouski Vybar, every seventh organization in the district is unprofitable, the amount of losses for the first nine months of 2014 has already exceeded 300 million rubles. Wage growth has slowed down, there are cases of delays in payments.
