Since December 22 Homel resident Yury Rubtsou, sentenced to 18 months of personal restraint (after the use of amnesty), has been kept in the open penitentiary institution No. 7 in the village of Kuolin in Pruzhany district, where a co-chairman of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Pavel Seviarynets used to serve his 3-year term of personal restraint.
According to Mr. Rubtsou, he is currently in the status of an unemployed prisoner. So far, he hasn't been proposed any work with the wage of 600 US dollars, which has been many times promised to Belarusians by Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
The human rights and civil society activists congratulated Mr. Rubtsou on the holidays, brought him a food parcel and wished him a quick release.
