The administration building trust №12 threatens to make the people who have been resettled to the hostels, conclude five-year residence contracts with the administration of the hostel, through court.

The people refuse to do it on their own as they are preparing an appeal to the Supreme Court against the verdict of the Leninski District Court of Mahiliou which refused to consider the case concerning their eviction from house No. 59 in Leninskaya Street without provision of the apartments equivalent to the ones that were owned by them. The people also state that their complaints are pending at other state bodies.

The lawyer of the Independent Trade Union of Radio Electronic Industry Alena Barysava points that forcing to conclusion of fixed-term contracts is a violation of the law:

“The people
still have the warrants for the apartments they had received in house No. 59 in Leninskaya Street many decades ago. However, instead of being provided them with new apartments of an equal size, as prescribed by Article 88 of the Housing Code, they were transferred to hostels, where each person was given just 6 square meters. The people are shocked. Moreover, as it was found during the correspondence with the officials, earlier their house had been given the status of a hostel without their notice, which is also an evident law violation.

It's worth reminding that in the beginning of the year 2014 the house No. 59 in Leninski Street was declared unfit for living. The people were evicted, but the house hasn't been ruined. It's fate is uncertain. At present it is inhabited by tramps and is gradually turning into a neglected place – many windows, doors and floors are already broken.
