Representatives of the Hordna branch of the United Civil Party have received from the Executive Committee a ban on holding protests against the current monetary and financial crisis. The pickets were also expected to demand the resignation of the President and members of the government who are guilty of the crisis.

Separate applications for holding the pickets were submitted by chairman of the UCP’s Hrodna regional office Aliaksandr Vasilevich and chairman of the party’s city branch Yezhy Hryhencha.

A response signed by the deputy chairman of the city executive committee Zoya Kuleshova explains the bans by a traditional reason, namely failure to submit agreements on public order, health care and cleaning of the territory. Meanwhile, the UCP activists in their statements asked the city authorities to provide assistance in signing such agreements and have made a written commitment to pay for the services.
