Freelancers face threats and insults in Brest
The incident took place during shooting of a video report about the destruction of historic buildings near one of them – Warburgs' colony which will be destroyed soon.
As reported by the Brest freelance journalist Aliaksandr Liauchuk, the journalists were preparing a report on the ruination of a unique ensemble of wooden buildings, built in Brest in the 1920-ies for poor Jewish families of the city thanks to donations from the Jewish charitable organization "Joint".
During the filming, the journalists were first approached by a guard, who behaved aggressively. He forbade them to come to the object, where construction works will soon begin, referring the facts that the journalists didn't have construction helmets (though he wasn't wearing a construction helmet either).
Soon an unidentified man appeared at the site. He started insulting the journalists and even promised them to punch them in the face. After this he went to the construction site (without wearing a construction helmet). The journalists continued shooting the video outside the fenced area where a shopping centre will be built instead of the ruined historical buildings.
