Ex-political prisoner Aliaksandr Frantskevich sentenced to 25 days of arrest

February 3, Minsk's Savetski District Court heard an administrative case against an activist of the anarchist movement, ex-political prisoner Aliaksandr Frantskevich. The case was considered by Judge Artsiom Biaskishski.

Mr. Frantskevich, detained on February 2, was accused of violating two articles at once: Art. 17.1 of the Administrative Code (disorderly condict) and 23.4 (disobedience to the lawful demands of an official).

As we learned from the defendant's testimony, several people had come to his work. His boss asked him to come downstairs, where several people in civvies were already waiting. Aliaksandr Frantskevich was taken to the Savetski Distirct Police Department, where violation reports concerning the alleged violation of the aforementioned articles by the activist were drawn up.

At the court hearing, testimony was born by riot policemen Siniak and Palavinkin. Both of them stated that while being in the house in Nezalezhnastsi Street, 58, Aliaksandr Frantskevich demonstrated a suspicious behavior: he was allegedly working back and forth in a nervous manner, thereby attracting their attention. They introduced themselves and showed a police ID. After this, he tried to flee. After catching him, the policemen again showed him an ID, after which he started insulting them with four-letter words and threatened with problems at work. After this he was warned about the use of physical force, put in the police car and taken to the Savetski DPD. He spent the night before the trial at the detention center in Akrestsin Street.
