Trade union activist Aliaksei Paulouski has lodged a lawsuit to demand apologies from a construction company which refused to employ him due to “possible negative consequences”. The suit has been filed in the Court of Mahiliou’s Leninski district.

On 20 September and 13 November 2012, the administration of the Mahiliou house-building factory refused to employ the trade union activist citing the fact that they “know the negative effects of employment and dismissals of Paulouski at other enterprises in the city”.

The activist says this is labor discrimination, as well as false information, a disgrace to his honor, dignity and business reputation as a citizen and employee in general.

The activist says that during his work in other construction companies of the city he was constantly trying to improve the working conditions of employees, enhancing labor safety and ensuring the stability of institutions.

The suit will be heard on 25 February.
