Opposition activist Kanstantsin Zhukouski continues his hunger strike in the Homel detention center, after being sentenced to 10 days of arrest for alleged disorderly conduct. The activist was detained on February 20, after he tried to file a complaint in the Executive Committee. After the trial, Kanstantsin Zhukouski declared a hunger strike, which he has held for five days already. On February 25, he began to drink water, because there was a danger to his life and health, but he has not stopped the strike.

The activist was visited by a lawyer. It turned out that on February 25 the activist was brought to court and stood another trial. As a result, he was punished by a fine of 10 basic units for allegedly false accusation.

The charges stemmed from an incident of early February, when participants of a motocross from Belarus and Russia tried to break into Kanstantsin Zhukouski’s yard to tear down a white-red-white flag hanging over his house. The activist called the police. However, when police officers arrived, the bikers had already left the place. As a result, Kanstantsin Zhukouski was accused of false denunciation.
